A Gift of Comfort: Winkler Senior Centre Supports Katie Cares

Katie Cares is deeply grateful to the Winkler Senior Centre for their generous donation and ongoing support.

The Winkler Senior Centre successfully applied for a grant to fund the creation of comfort bags and the purchase of Beanie Babies for Katie Cares. Through this funding, they assembled thoughtful care bags containing a journal, a $5.00 gift card, a pen, a bookmark, lip balm, and a puzzle book. These special bags will be provided to guests staying at Katie’s Cottage, offering comfort and encouragement during their stay.

In addition, the Winkler Senior Centre purchased and donated 50 Beanie Babies, which will be given to children receiving care throughout the Southern Health region. These treasured companions bring comfort, smiles, and reassurance to children during what can often be a difficult time.

The generosity of the Winkler Senior Centre will have a meaningful impact on the families and children we serve. Katie Cares sincerely appreciates this wonderful gift and the commitment to supporting our guests and bringing comfort to children when they need it most.
