Winkler, Manitoba – October 21, 2026 – Katie Cares is pleased to announce that its 13th Annual Celebration of Life Fashion Show has raised $86,500 to date, with donations from the event continuing to come in.
This year’s fashion show was a tremendous success, with a record-breaking 656 tickets sold and both shows completely sold out. The event brought together community members, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who share a commitment to making a difference in the lives of families facing medical challenges.
The annual fashion show is one of Katie Cares’ most important fundraising events, helping to fund approximately 45% of the organization’s annual operating budget. The funds raised support the ongoing work of Katie Cares, including Katie’s Cottage, a home away from home for families who need to be close to loved ones receiving medical care at Boundary Trails Health Centre, as well as the Beanie Baby Program, which brings comfort to children during medical procedures and stressful healthcare experiences.
“The support we receive from our community continues to be both humbling and inspiring,” says Ruth Reimer of Katie Cares. “As a charity, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who attended the fashion show, sponsored the event, donated prizes, volunteered their time, and helped make this year such a success. Reaching $86,500 is an incredible achievement, and we are thankful that donations are still coming in. Every contribution helps us continue the work that began with Katie’s dream of caring for others.”
